MEET BEA
Beatrix is 9 yrs old and is one of 3 children.
She was born with Wolf Hirshhorn Syndrome which has lead to her having seizures, brittle bones, hearing & sight problems, Sleep Apnea - requires oxygen therapy at night. All of this means that she is life limited and her family do anything and everything for her.
The family have been looking at purchasing an all terrain wheelchair/pushchair to enable them to take Bea out, along with her siblings, to the beach/new forest/country parks etc – places that they currently have to carry Bea as her current chair isn’t suitable for rough/uneven terrain and where they are now having to avoid, which is having a negative affect on her siblings.
Can you help us help Bea and help us raise the money for a new chair for her and equipment for our other stars??

JACK!!
Jack is 13. He has Cerebral Palsy. He cannot walk and is blind. He has huge anxiety at being away from his familiar surroundings so other than the walk to school, he doesn’t leave the house. For the past 3 years the family have been confined to home due to Jack being unable to get in any vehicle as anxieties cause him to become exceptionally distressed.
The family are looking to landscape their garden to make it a safe and usable space for Jack.
They need help in levelling the garden, new patio and artificial grass that will be safe for Jack to bum-shuffle around and save him from the inevitable muddy bottom that the natural grass gives him. A fixed pagoda will provide a safe dry area making the garden accessible in all weathers. External sensory plants and toys will enhance the positive space for Jack and his mum and dad.

EVIE!!!!!
Evie is 10 years old. She has Autism, Profound hearing loss, sensory delay, peg feed and has had two ops on her legs which has lead to her wearing splints. Evie is non verbal😊
The family would love to have an inflatable lazy spa. They would use it to carry out hydrotherapy to relax Evie’s legs as they become very painful. Evie also love the sensory feedback that she gets from the water, meaning swimming makes her so happy.
Evie loves animals and has a very bubbly nature. She may not be able to speak but her smile is a picture worth a thousand words!
She is a cheeky young lady and is well loved at school.
Evie is learning Makaton at school to help her learn to communicate more clearly and to help those around her to understand her. Like many people her mum and dad don’t know Makaton and would love to learn it so they can communicate with Evie like her siblings and family, just using their hands to speak in place of verbal words.
Makaton books/lessons would really help her parents with this
Thank you for choosing me your help means the world to me and my family we are looking forward to meeting you all love Evie 💖

CHARLIE!!!
Charlie is 3yrs old and was diagnosed with Hemiplegic Cerebral Palsy.
He had a stroke inutero due to the cord being wrapped around his neck.
This has lead to him having weakness on his left side and developing skills later than his older brother and his peers.
He was recently fitted with an AFO (ankle foot orthotic) more commonly identified as a splint.
This has enabled him to walk a little more comfortably and makes him a little steadier by supporting his foot as his tone changes and makes it turn inwards.
Charlie has started to notice he is different to his big brother Billy and has asked why Billy doesnt have to stretch his legs every day and why doesnt Billy walk funny too.
Charlie is footy mad and loves being out and about in the fresh air with his family.
Charlie's family would like to get equipment that will help him with his daily home physio plan and also help with a walk in shower that would give Charlie a relaxing place to soak after his busy days (with a hidden physio agenda as well - helps with stretches!!)

FOREST PARK SCHOOL
Forest Park School is a very special place which provides for children aged 2-19 with moderate, severe and profound learning difficulties. The school is based on two sites. The Primary site has a range of pupils with moderate, severe and profound learning difficulties, whilst the secondary site provides education for children with severe and profound learning difficulties.
Two of this years STARS are pupils at Forest Park.
Our secondary staff are starting to do some yoga with the pupils to help them with their core stability among other benefits. They are looking to purchase 10 yoga mats to help the students.
The school are also looking to provide an area around a new outdoor trampoline which is being installed at their Primary site later in the year. The family of a very special young man who sadly passed away very suddenly last term have raised a large amount of money for the trampoline in his memory. To enhance this special trampoline area, the school need to complete the groundworks to make it a safe sensory space. They need the path ways levelling and making wheelchair safe, sensory planting etc.
Another item that the school would really like, to enhance their play area, is a wheelchair swing. So many children are unable to sit in standard swings so this specialised swing would mean that all the children can enjoy the wind in their hair!!
